Hellen is a visionary leader and the driving force behind Enchilai, a Community Based Organisation dedicated to fostering sustainable communities through innovative solutions  and collaborative efforts. As the Founder and Executive Director, Hellen has played a pivotal role in guiding Enchilai towards its mission of addressing critical social issues such as climate change, mental health, education, water sanitation and hygiene, culture and community empowerment.

ADVOCACY & EXPERTISE

Hellen is a passionate advocate for Mental Health awareness and support, believing in the importance of addressing mental health challenges to create resilient communities. She is also deeply committed to Climate Change Action, recognising the urgent need to protect the environment for future generations.

With a Strong Background in Mental Health, Program Management, Gender & Development and Youth, Hellen has been instrumental in designing and implementing programs that empower the young people especially girls and boys, to become leaders in their communities.

Her work emphasises gender Equality, encouraging the full participation of all genders in the community development initiatives.

She is a dedicated Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Specialist with over 10 years of hands on experience in Mental Health Program management, with a track record in providing high quality counselling services to services to diverse populations, including children, families, and survivors of Gender-Based Violence (GBV), minority groups and trauma-affected populations. She is also adept at working with populations in emergency settings having worked with girls and young women separated by war and conflict. 

Expert in designing and implementing trauma-informed care approaches and psychosocial programs that promote healing and resilience. Highly skilled in developing and managing mental health initiatives, from strategic planning and mobilization to reporting and evaluation. 

Experienced in collaborating with governmental agencies, NGOs, and community organizations to enhance project effectiveness and ensure comprehensive support for beneficiaries.

Purity Simayiai Kaparo

An adaptable, resourceful Certified Public Accountant with over 9 years of progressive career experience leading financial & accounts strategies with a well-established organization. She is skilled in business analysis, financial and reporting skills, and strategic budgeting.

She holds a Bachelor's of Business administration and an Master's of Business administration-Finance from the University of Nairobi and also a CPAK.

She is currently an Accountant at Kenya water Towers Agency-MOEF.

Loise Kamau

Treasurer

An excellent humanitarian and development professional with over extensive hands on experience in International, Regional and Country implementation, coordination and programming while focusing on grants, donor reports, strengthening Country operations, creating community of practice and ensuring support to countries across the region and supporting countries in strategy development, planning, accompanying and supporting refugees to heal, learn and determine their future.

She has a proven track record of Program Cycle Management, ideation and roll out of strategic programs resulting in successful project design and implementation. She is proactive, purpose driven leader committed to team development and achievement of desired goals.

She is a visionary and believes in community involvement in curating solutions to their issues and work towards sustainable development and programming.
